Cognitive enrichment is a proactive, evidence-based approach to promoting brain health and enhancing quality of life through personalized, engaging activities. Our process begins with a comprehensive Cognitive Baseline & Lifestyle Review, which is a collaborative exploration covering a client’s:

  • Lifelong interests, hobbies, career history, and personal passions that can be rekindled.

  • A non-diagnostic assessment of current cognitive strengths and areas where they desire more support.

  • Review of social engagement levels and daily routines to identify opportunities for more stimulation.

  • Understanding of physical abilities and limitations to ensure all activities are accessible and enjoyable.

  • Collaborative goal-setting with the client and their family to define what success and enjoyment look like.

  • Assessment of the client’s comfort with technology and their interest in learning new skills.

Based on this holistic review, we develop a Personalized Enrichment Plan that serves as a roadmap for our one-on-one sessions. This is a dynamic plan, tailored to the individual, which may include:

  • A curated program of one-on-one activities designed to stimulate different cognitive domains.

  • Specific recommendations for engaging hobbies, community classes, or social outings.

  • Evidence-based exercises and games targeting memory, attention, problem-solving, and executive function.

  • Integration of creative arts, such as music, painting, and storytelling, to encourage self-expression.

  • Reminiscence therapy to validate life experiences and strengthen identity.

  • A structured yet flexible schedule of sessions that fits seamlessly into the client’s routine.

The core of our service is the implementation of the plan through ongoing, supportive one-on-one sessions, which include:

  • Conducting engaging sessions in the comfort and privacy of the client’s home.

  • Providing all curated materials for the planned activities, from art supplies to puzzles and articles.

  • Continuously adapting the program based on the client's day-to-day mood, progress, and feedback.

  • Acting as a compassionate companion and intellectual partner, building a trusting and supportive relationship.

  • Providing regular progress reports and collaborating with the client's wider care team (family, physicians, home health aides) to ensure a holistic approach.

  • Introducing new technologies like tablets or smart devices in a patient and supportive manner.
