Nurse-led. Doula-certified. Here for every stage —
Including the last.
At HealthSense, we believe that how we live and how we die are both worthy of expert, compassionate care. Our End of Life Doula Certification deepens what we've always offered: a steady, experienced presence when families need it most.
Whether you're planning ahead, facing a recent diagnosis, or navigating the final weeks with a loved one, our team is here — not just to manage logistics, but to walk alongside you with skill, honesty, and heart.
An End of Life Doula provides non-medical support to people nearing the end of life — and to the families who love them. Where medical teams focus on symptoms, a doula focuses on the whole person: their fears, their wishes, their stories, and their peace.
At HealthSense, our End of Life Doula Certification is held by a nurse care manager with 20 years of professional experience. That combination — clinical expertise and doula training — means you receive a quality of care that very few organizations can offer.

Emotional & Spiritual Presence
We listen without agenda. We sit with uncertainty. We help your loved one articulate what matters most — and create space for the conversations that bring families closer.

Advance
Care Planning
From advance directives to healthcare proxies, we translate complex decisions into clear, manageable steps — so your loved one's voice is heard, even when they can no longer speak for themselves. (See also: our Advance Directive Consulting service.)

Vigil Planning & Companionship
When the time comes, no one should face it alone. We provide skilled, compassionate bedside presence — helping families understand what to expect and how to be present with their loved one.

Legacy Work
Some of our most meaningful work happens through legacy projects: recorded stories, letters to grandchildren, reflections on a life well-lived. These become treasures long after loss.

Family Navigation
Families often disagree — about care decisions, about what their loved one would want. We help facilitate those difficult conversations with warmth and neutrality, helping everyone find common ground.

Grief Support
Our care doesn't end at death. We continue supporting families through the grief that follows — through the early fog, the anniversaries, and the moments when loss resurfaces unexpectedly.
Most end of life doulas work independently. HealthSense is different.
When you come to us, your End of Life Doula is also a nurse — someone who can coordinate with your medical team, understand your loved one's clinical picture, and navigate the healthcare system on your behalf. You don't need two sets of professionals. You need one team that does it all.
We've supported hundreds of New York City families through their most difficult moments. We know the hospitals, the hospices, and the home care landscape. And we know that in New York — where life moves fast and support systems can be fragile — having a trusted guide makes all the difference.
We work alongside hospice, not instead of it. Our doula support enhances medical comfort care by filling the human gaps that clinical teams don't have time for.
This service is for you if:
A parent or loved one has received a terminal diagnosis and you don't know what comes next
You want to plan ahead — while you're healthy — and give your family the gift of clarity
Your loved one is in hospice and you need additional emotional and practical support
You're carrying the weight of caregiving and need a steady, knowledgeable partner
Your family is struggling to agree on care decisions and needs a compassionate mediator
There is no wrong time to reach out. The earlier we connect, the more we can help.
At HealthSense, our mission is to help seniors live longer, healthier, more connected lives. End of life care is not a departure from that mission — it is its completion.
A life well-supported to the end is the fullest expression of aging with dignity. Our doula certification means we can now walk with clients and families through every chapter: from thriving independently to navigating illness, from planning wisely to letting go gracefully.
We don't talk about death to be morbid. We talk about it because preparation is an act of love — for yourself and for everyone who loves you.
"HealthSense's unique blend of professional sensitivity, medical expertise, and personal attentiveness made all the difference in my mother's end-of-life care. They were literally on the case — reassuring my mother, directing home caregiving, and keeping me sane — from the moment we hired them. I honestly cannot imagine how we would have managed without them." — Raleigh M., New York, New York
